I've been waiting for Maker Faire to get some more experience with 3d printers and talk to people that make and use them. Today was the last thing I was waiting for to bite the bullet and actually dive into this hobby.
I bought my kit from Makergear.com and we'll see how long it takes to get here, estimate is 2-3 weeks currently.
